This Tanzania wildlife safari begins in Arusha and features two of the country’s most iconic safari destinations. First, experience the vast and captivating Serengeti National Park, renowned for its endless plains and the spectacular Great Migration, where millions of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles traverse the landscape. The Serengeti is also famous for its large populations of big cats, including lions, leopards, and cheetahs, making it a premier destination for game viewing.
The tour concludes with a visit to the Ngorongoro Crater, often hailed as the “eighth wonder of the world.” This unique caldera, formed by a collapsed volcano, offers a diverse and rich ecosystem within its pristine confines. The Ngorongoro Crater is home to an impressive variety of wildlife, including rhinos, elephants, and numerous bird species, providing an exceptional and immersive safari experience.
Itinerary
This Safari starts with a pickup from Arusha Hotel between 0700 hrs and 0730 hrs. Depart Arusha town and drive via Karatu, Mtowa Mbu and Manyara region to arrive at Ngorongoro Conservancy area gate. Some bathroom break while the guide get the transit permit, enjoy second stopover at the Ngorongoro Crater viewpoint.
There is more than 2 hours’ drive within the Ngorongoro Conservancy area, witness the local Masai as they look after their cattle’s and at the same time enjoy a game drive. Arrive at Serengeti Registration gate, break for picnic lunches as the guide again get the tickets. Afternoon game drive enroute to central Serengeti where you will be spending the night at. The day will be long but the Tanzania wildlife tour experience will be a great one, dinner and overnight.
Early morning at 0530 hrs enjoy a cup of coffee or tea then depart for morning game drive. Enjoy the sunrise while in the wilderness and search for lions as they prepare to hunt. The game drive will continue up to noon, return to the campsite for brunch followed by another game drive en route to exit gate. Between 1445 hrs and 1500hrs exit Serengeti National Park, more game drive on the Ngorongoro Conservancy area for at least 2 hours. Finally, you will arrive at your lodge or campsite in the late evening for dinner and overnight.
Breakfast then depart for Morning game drive, descend the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater wall with scenic views. If the morning will be without a mist you will be astonished as you descend at the crater Rim enjoy at least 4 – 5 hours game drive to spice up Tanzania wildlife Tour experience. Search for the few black rhinos, great lions, hippos, elephants, zebras, elands, hyenas which are so many, wildebeest among many more wild animals. The lake also hosts the two types of flamingos plus other birds that can easily be spotted.
Depart the crater by noon ascending the thrilling wall, exit and drive to your lodge / campsite for hot Lunch. Later depart the camp exiting Ngorongoro Conservancy area before 1500hrs. Using the main highway drive to Arusha arriving at your hotel in the late evening to end the great safari package.
